REFLECTIVE ACTIVITY:
C-SQUARED CHALLENGE

"INNER CLOISTER"
#C2InnerCloister

As we journey through this Lenten season, with everything that surrounds & impact us, we are invited into the desert - toward silence & solitude, toward God. Amidst the shift of our world from the “in person” to the “virtual” last year (during Lent), I’m reminded of what I was doing at that time... planning community events & ministry retreats for the year, organizing & preparing for Lenten experiences, traveling the city, meeting up with friends... I was comfortable in the busyness & noise... Then, suddenly it seemed, I was faced with the opportunity & time to get to know myself & God more, at home, in the quiet, through rest & prayer. Although there was this new sense of urgency to build a presence & engage with others online, personally & professionally, I felt afforded the opportunity to experience Lent in an entirely different way than I had before; I think in some ways, we all were. Our C-Squared Challenges return with a challenge focused on redeeming this opportunity that still holds true this year. As we continue to appreciate insight/creativity from virtual sources, a few of our inspirations for this challenge come from @intentionaldisciples’ Still Small Voice Challenge (1 Kings 19:11-13), what @sistah.d calls a “Litany of Acceptance,” & St. Elizabeth of the Trinity: “May the God Who is all love be your unchanging dwelling place, your cell, & your cloister in the midst of the world.” We invite you to cultivate an “inner cloister,” a meeting place within your heart where you can find God in silence. Think of the quiet you might experience in an Adoration chapel—this is the kind of quiet we are encouraging you to seek when you meet with the Lord, whether in Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, your bedroom, on a walk outside, or another place where you might observe this time. Bring everything to Him. In addition to accepting this challenge, we invite you to take & share a photo of your surroundings to social media, the place you find yourself in that, perhaps, reflects the inner cloister of your heart. Use #CSquaredChallenge #C2InnerCloister & tag us @somosdelavid.
